Our Story

The farm has been in our family since 1909. Back then it was a dairy and egg farm providing milk and eggs to the local community. When the industry changed requiring larger milk storage facilities on farms in the 1940s, then owner Clyde Woods, transitioned out of dairy and into beef & pork. The farm is currently owned by Charlie and Shyrl Carothers. Charlie - Clyde's grandson moved onto the farm with his wife Shyrl in the 1970s with a focus on raising beef. He named the farm Carwood Farm in honor of his grandfather who taught him the ways of farming. Charlie and Shyrl's son, Corey, took over the operation of the farm in 2018, and is farming it today with the help of his brother Chuck. The farm's primary production continues to be beef with a renewed focus on making the products produced on the farm available to the local community through locally owned restaurants we serve and products available for purchase through our website.
