**""Nan’s Kitchen is a new initiative the Carlisle Family YMCA introduced at the beginning of November to help address food insecurity among its members and program participants. Thanks to a generous grant from The Stabler Foundation, the Y is offering free afterschool snacks, a weekly hot meal for 7th Grade Initiative participants, swim team members and community members of the YMCA. The Y is also providing Bagel Tuesdays for seniors and a food pantry for families in its Childcare Center. The Y appreciates partnerships with Helena’s Café and Creperie, Carwood Farm, Good Keeper Farm and Three Springs Fruit Farm, which are helping to stretch the grant funding from The Stabler Foundation for Nan’s Kitchen. According to Feeding America’s annual Map the Meal Gap report, in 2021 over 18,000 people in Cumberland County were food insecure. Nan's aims to help combat this."

Environment
Carwood partnered with The Chesapeake Bay Foundation and Pheasants Forever to plant wildflowers & trees on the farm. We have established an additional partnership with "Ebenezer Honey" owned and operated by Pastor Ryan Brown of New Life Community and his wife Maureen. They had 11 bee hives on the farm in 2022, 15 in 2023 with plans to grow to 30 in 2024! Among other things the Pollinator Habitat resulting from these plantings and hives will encourage the bees to pollinate the crops and pumpkin blossoms to make our Pick Your Own Pumpkin Patch even more awesome!"Raising happy healthy cows, while building a happy healthy community"
